Why is Ange so happy?

We love a celeb wedding.

Especially when it involves one of our favourite TV stars.

Angela Griffin married her fiance Jason Milligan at Babington House in Somerset yesterday.

The Cutting It star, 30, has been with Jason, 35, for three years.

Among the star-studded guest list were Angela's Cutting It co-star Amanda Holden, Max Beesley, Jill Halfpenny and Lisa Faulkner.

An insider said: "It was a lovely day. Angela looked beautiful and radiant with happiness."

In fact, Angela worked her socks off to lose an amazing four stone in time for her nuptials.

She said: "I worked so hard on my figure since being pregnant."

The actress gave birth to her and Jason's daughter Tallulah Jae in June 2004.

The power of Three

It’s been a long hot summer and it’s 95 degrees in the shade (or so Girls Aloud once memorably sang). And it seems that waiting for announcements of exciting autumn schedules are like buses – you wait for one with the expectant hope of Patrick Kielty awaiting his next contract through the heatwave of the World Cup, Love Island and Big Brother, then loads come along at once.

.......

One drama that has defined BBC Three and deserved a much wider audience than it gained on the terrestrials (BBC2 on a Saturday night? I think not!) is Bodies. The truly magnificent drama is rounded off with a feature-length finale, and there is no doubt in my mind that it will be as bleak, visceral and brutal as what came before. But pity Max Beesley. after the heights of Bodies, he’s back filming the second series of Hotel Babylon (shush, I actually like that too…).

CHELSY TAKES SHELTER AS HARRY BRAVES THE RAIN

Given that he is in training to become an Army tank commander, it was small surprise to see Prince Harry riding high in the saddle despite torrential downpours at the weekend. The young royal's girlfriend Chelsy Davy took refuge under an umbrella with his father Prince Charles as they watched him strut his stuff on the polo field on Saturday.
The South African student, who is currently enjoying a summer break with her Prince, got a taste of just how changeable the British weather can be when she went along to Cirencester Park Polo Club for the fixture. Harry's friends seemed more than happy to help her keep dry while her sport-loving beau was galloping through the driving rain, however.

The same venue played host to a roll-call of celebs when the Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup final was staged the following day. Singer Louise Redknapp and actor Max Beesley were both watching from the sidelines on Sunday afternoon, though former EastEnders star Tamzin Outhwaite opted to cuddle up with new husband Tom Ellis in the hospitality tent instead.

Among the other famous faces in attendance was silver screen favourite Ray Winstone. The Hackney-born actor, who is best known for playing tough working class characters, confessed he was more interested in the social side of things than the game itself. "It ain't for me," he said when asked if he'd ever though of getting involved with the sport. "You've got to own seven horses - it's not really where I'm from."

Taste of summer special

The perfect summer afternoon tastes of ripe peaches, mint and cucumber and smells of freshly mown grass. You can hear it too I guess, in the sound of balls on bats, children's laughter and splashes of water and the familiar sighs of Tim Henman's audience. It is also the time to make the most of the edible delights that come our way at this time of year. Desserts can get short shrift in this age of healthy eating which could mean us missing out on the gorgeous summer fruits we wait patiently all year for - blackcurrants, apricots, raspberries, strawberries and cherries. No summer lunch is complete without its dessert of freshly picked summer fruits and cream. This month we have several recipes that show offour glorious bounty from summer fruit meringues to impromptu trifles. It is probably the summer food I remember most fondly from my childhood, but more than anything my nostalgia for holidays past is ignited by ice cream. It may have been a cornet, a Fab or a choc ice, a wafer, a Knickerbocker Glory or a Strawberry Mivvi (remember those?) but there is a story for almost every one I ever ate. How people's lives can be measured by the food they eat has been a constant source of fascination to me, so much so that I have just finishing filming a BBC television series called A Taste of My Life. Next week's programme has me chatting over the kitchen hob with Vanessa Redgrave (and later on in the series Richard E Grant, Max Beesley and Alan Bennett) about the impact food and cooking have had on their lives. Nothing, apparently, quite brings back memories and stirs our emotions like something on a plate.
For this issue, Mimi Spencer writes about her childhood picnics, with their mysterious foil-wrapped parcels of food and Penguin chocolate biscuits a very different story indeed to today's trendier than thou alfresco spreads.

In order to send all of you on your holidays with a good chance of eating well we have asked some of the magazine's best friends to give us their top tips for summer feasting. Hugh shows us his list of top places for seafood while Jasper Conran lets us peep at his little black book for the chicest place to unfurl our napkins this summer. (Thank you, Jasper.) We also have Sam Clarke's top Tapas and Rick Stein's Cornish top five. It's a real cut-out-and-keep guide to the grooviest things you can put into your mouth this summer. We also have Tim Adams taking tea in China, John Carlin quizzing the oh-so-cool Morgan Freeman about his favourite table and Tim Atkin gives us no less than three dozen top wines for summer from a £2.99 bottle of white Soave from the Co-op to an M&S £l;29.99 champagne - a delightful way to toast the flavours and scents of another beautiful British summer.

· A Taste of My Life is on Saturdays on BBC1 at 11.30am

The Kumars At No. 42

Friday 4 August 9.30-10.00pm BBC ONE

Bodies star and Robbie Williams's former sidekick, Max Beesley, and grumpy Victor Meldrew himself, Richard Wilson, join The Kumars At No. 42.

Max Beesley chats to the family about his charity work for Manchester Children's Hospital and his surprisingly musical background. He talks about accepting a top music scholarship to The Guildhall School of Music before dropping out at the age of 17 to join Paul Weller's band, and how he then met, and subsequently performed with, Robbie Williams on his 91 shows over a mere eight months. He reveals that watching Robert De Niro in Raging Bull propelled him into acting and talks about the wide range of TV roles he's taken on, from the dark, intense drama Bodies to the more frivolous Hotel Babylon.
