Spotted

The West Australian (Perth)

METRO

Robbie Williams' percussionist and keyboardist Max Beesley tickling the ivories at the Hyatt Regency yesterday morning.

Beesley, who also played Hotel Babylon's nice-guy Charlie Edwards and once dated a Spice Girl, had just finished brekkie at the Hyatt when he sat down at a piano in the lobby for an impromptu performance.

But, according to our lobby layabout, Beesley got short shrift."Someone tapped him on the shoulder, pointed at a sign and asked him to stop playing," the layabout told IC."He seemed a bit pissed off ... he got up and walked off with his mate."

The final episode to be aired

Good Sunday-morning everyone :)

Just have some quick news for you that I found :D

The final of Bodies is to be aired on BBC3 December 13 (date to be confirmed)! Will
keep you updated about that of course :D

And if you wanna know more about that episode go to Scotsman. There is an
interview to be read with Jed Mercurio!

See ya soon
Denise

EDIT

The BBC has it already in their programme:
Bodies – The Finale
Wednesday 13 December
10.00-11.30pm BBC THREE

Tense, gripping, darkly humorous and scarily unsettling: the critically acclaimed Bodies, winner of the RTS Award for Best Drama Series, concludes with Jed Mercurio's 90-minute finale, starring Max Beesley.

Rob Lake's life has changed beyond recognition since he fought to prevent patients coming to harm at the hands of his incompetent boss, Roger Hurley. Now Rob is making a fresh start with a new job as a consultant and is expecting a baby with registrar Polly Grey.

However, it's not long before Hurley resurfaces – with a police caution, a broken marriage and the same medical skills – and Rob must confront his nemesis one last time. Will Tony Whitman get off suspension and Donna Rix return to nursing, or will Rob have to go it alone?

Rob Lake is played by Max Beesley, Roger Hurley by Patrick Baladi, Polly Grey by Tamzin Malleson, Tony Whitman by Keith Allen and Donna Rix by Neve McIntosh.

High class party to launch Hilton

IT was the night we expected Paris and got... errr... Manchester.

The Hilton Hotel on Deansgate officially opened with a star-studded bash last night, and enough celebrities to play a football match.

There was no sign of a rumoured appearance by Hilton heiress Paris Hilton, but we did get a whole host of well-known Mancunian faces at the glitzy opening bash.

Max Beasley, the Levenshulme born former Take That drummer turned Hollywood actor, came home to help launch the newest addition to the city's impressive top-end hotel portfolio.

He was joined by a host of celebrities from football, stage, screen and rugby.

And the secret ingredient of a successful hotel launch? Freebies, obviously.

There was plenty of that at last night's party.

Champagne flowed like corporation pop while the 'buffet' wasn't your average sausage rolls and vol-au-vents affair - far from it. Fresh salmon, oysters and delicacies from far afield were gobbled up by the lucky punters who managed to blag a ticket to the party of the week.

Max at James Brown's Electric Proms

Max at James Brown Gig
Go to "Watch the full set", then a window pops up and you have to choose "James Brown" on the right side and forward to 34:15" and you will see Max in action for one song :D It's only online for two more days so hurry up :D

And there's a gallery as well

The legendary Godfather of Soul produced an extraordinary performance in the Main Space tonight. Part traditional soul show, part spectacular celebration of funk with a huge supporting cast.

James Brown's band slowly whipped the crowd up into a frenzy and twenty minutes later Mr. Dynamite himself finally appears on stage decked out in a shimmering electric blue suit. Before long he's demonstrating why he's the hardest working man in show business with his vocal shrieks and trademark slippery dance moves. Next, Max Beasley joins in the fun at the piano for a rendition of 'Georgia'.

The stage is packed - there's a brass section, two drummers, a percussionist, keyboards, guitarists - of whom provide superb musicianship - as well as several stunning backing singers, two dancing girls in J.B. hot pants and a compare. James is later joined by The Sugababes who provide deep harmonies over James' high pitched vocals.

The highlight of the night comes towards the end as a full gospel choir come on stage and provide an incredible vocal performance. But it's the old favourites like 'Rock Your Body', 'Soul Man' and 'Sex Machine' that really get everybody in the house wiggling their hips, dancing in the aisles and getting down with the funk.

An unforgettable night.
