Rebecca in Hotel BabylonTamzin Outhwaite and Max Beesley return to star in a new series of the hit BBC show Hotel Babylon, a tantalising and seductive insight into the sexy world of the luxury five-star hotel industry. The hotel staff are delighted to welcome back Charlie, shaken, but not stirred, from his near-death experience.
Meanwhile, following the news that her husband, Robert, has had an affair, prominent MP Theresa Evans is forced to hide in the hotel. Feeling personally responsible, Rebecca resolves to sort out the situation and invites tabloid editor Maria Henson for lunch. Maria tells Rebecca she will stop the story if Rebecca can provide her with some juicier gossip, but will Rebecca dish the dirt on hotel guest Chris Moyles in order to protect her new friend, Theresa?

Something for charity
HCA Conference 2007 Nominated Charity
The Five Stars Scanner Appeal
The Hospital Caterers Association’s nominated Charity for the annual National Conference, being held at the Hilton London Metropole Hotel on Edgeware Rd, April 26-27 2007, is ‘The Five Stars Scanner Appeal’.
The Wallness Children’s Charity started fundraising 30 years ago for the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. The Charity was re-launched as the Five Stars Scanner Appeal in 2004 and it is proud to be working in partnership with The New Children’s Hospital Appeal*, raising funds to help to ensure the new hospital is the very best it can be.
Max Beesley, Chris Bisson, Ryan Giggs, Richard O’Brien and Samia Smith are lending their support as the Five Star Appeal Ambassadors, to help raise £1 million to provide a much needed MRI scanner for The New Children’s Hospital, Manchester. The scanner will help children from Carlisle to Crewe, and, in special cases, anywhere in the UK.
The new equipment will cut the time of a standard scan from 45 minutes to 15 minutes, making it far less distressing for the children. It will also help the hospital to diagnose cancer and cancer related illnesses more quickly, enabling doctors to provide early treatment that will ultimately save children’s lives.
HCA fundraising for The Five Stars Scanner Appeal will take place by way of a Charity raffle and tombola at the President’s Dinner on Thursday, 26 April 2007. The Branches of the Association will be providing prizes for this raffle but additional prizes of any value are welcomed from Trade suppliers. These prizes should be handed in at the Conference Desk, at the Conference on Wednesday 25 April 2007. All companies donating raffle prizes will be identified.
If you are a supplier and intend to donate a prize but wish to discuss your intent with the Organisers beforehand, please contact the HCA’s Conference Secretary, Carolyn Robinson (telephone: 01902 695349 or e-mail Carolyn.Robinson@rwh-tr.nhs.uk). And if you would like further informtaion on the work of the Five Stars Appeal please visit: www.fivestarsappeal.co.uk.
The Five Stars Scanner Appeal, through its pledge to raise £1 million for a new MRI scanner, will make a major contribution to the quality of treatment for young patients. In working together, we will shape the future.
*The New Children’s Hospital Appeal is part of the Central Manchester and Manchester Children’s University Hospital Charity. Registered charity number 1049274.

Bodies star Beesley to play ITV1 love rat

Max Beesley is to star in a new ITV1 drama about a love rat DJ chasing his best friend’s fiance.
The Bodies and Hotel Babylon star plays Mitch Moore, a DJ hosting a late-night phone-in on a London radio station, who beds a string of women before falling for his mate’s wife to be.
Emma Pierson, Kate Ashfield and Adrian Bower also star in the four-part series entitled Is This Love? to be broadcast later this year.
The show is being made by Company Pictures, the independent production house behind Shameless and Wild At Heart.
Laura Mackie, controller of ITV drama commissioning said: “Is This Love? is a modern tale of temptation and forbidden love. Writer Daniel Brocklehurst has crafted a compelling script with plot twists and turns every step of the way. This story certainly provides an alternative look at relationships and will no doubt leave the audience questioning the true meaning of love.”
